KOR Services (Medical Device Reprocessing) Manager (Vancouver/Lower Mainland)

Responsibilities

  • Key lead working close with MDR Managers, Surgical Directors, and internal MDR Technicians
  • Provide accountability and leadership of our Medical Device Reprocessing and OR pack room
  • Ensure accountability for all CSA and MDR Accreditation standards are being met and continually updated
  • Assist in product development, purchasing of linen and operational supplies, along with overall inventory management
  • Build/assemble linen packs
  • Oversee steam sterilizers and manage sterilizer loads. This includes:-
    • Adherence to daily sterilizer start-up procedures
    • Ensure compliance of running sterilization cycles
    • Loading and unloading sterilizers
    • Ensure steam sterilization quality by monitoring:-
      • Packages and loads
      • Sterilization cycle parameters using cycle records, chemical indicators and biological indicators
      • Maintaining records of all results
    • Prepare sterilize packs for delivery
    • Load delivery carts, ensuring all documentation is complete
    • Manage linen quotas for each use-area, both standing and ad-hoc
    • Be the primary advocate on behalf of the customer and effectively communicate concerns to the appropriate member of the K-Bro team. Ensure effective resolution of customer concerns
    • Ensure all end-users have access to the linen they need to deliver high quality patient care

Position Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager and General Manager, the KOR Services Manager will be responsible for participating in the coordination of the production processes, coach, manage and develop new and existing employees, track and generate daily production records. Other responsibilities will include promoting health and safety; supporting senior management in achieving production goals, maintaining product quality, reviewing, managing and adjusting to changing customer needs.

Job Skills Required

  • Successful completion of community college level medical device reprocessing program
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory and staff management experience
  • Strong work ethic and leadership skills
  • CSA, MDRT certification preferred – MDRD experience with steam sterilizers an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Self-motivated and possess a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency
  • Good time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills to succeed in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
