Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
Provide support to the Department Supervisor. Monitor the flow of linen with production software. Prioritize accounts in order of delivery times. Delegate employees to the appropriate work station to ensure productivity goals are reached. Track and record production numbers on a daily basis. Move linen in tubs to other departments for further processing. Provide assistance as needed when equipment is down. Communicate to the Department Supervisor or Production Manager if equipment is not operating properly.
Safety Responsibilities:
Lead by example, perform work in a safe manner by following safety rules and practices. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to include: steel toe footwear, hairnet and face mask. Report any unsafe work practices such as dangerous work habits. Monitor department area by checking for trip hazards, unsafe or faulty equipment and any unsafe conditions.
Position Summary
This position requires an outgoing individual who is comfortable interacting with front line staff, peers and plant management. It is a fast paced environment requiring one to multi-task while performing the duties of this job. The LeadHand must set an example by working in a safe manner, following all H and S policies and procedures and using proper PPE.
Job Skills Required
- Minimum 1 year experience in production facility and multicultural work staff environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills including verbal and written
- Must be a team player – possess interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with computers and learning new production equipment software applications
